Make + Take Fire Cider Workshop with Amber Merkens In-Person

Cost: $15 Registration required. *Bring your own sterilized pint size jar with a lid, all other materials provided.

Join Amber Merkens, clinical herbalist of @WildBeyondBotanicals, for an afternoon of community medicine making. Take home your own immune boosting digestive tonic to support your health during the transition from winter to spring!

Fire cider is a traditional remedy that has been used for generations to stimulate digestion and ward off colds, flus, sore throats, and congestion. This warming, sweet, and spicy extraction of herbs, foods, and spices into vinegar is a potent example of food as medicine.

In this hands-on workshop, we'll make a fire cider together, delve into the medicinal properties of the highly accessible ingredients, and share tips on how to incorporate a time-tested home remedy into your daily life.

Amber Merkens is a clinical and community herbalist with a background in dance, performing arts, and birth arts. She offers private holistic health consultations and facilitates workshops in the Hudson Valley and NYC. Amber is a graduate of the ArborVitae School of Traditional Herbalism, where she now serves as Clinic Director, and was formerly the Resident Herbalist for the Alchemist’s Kitchen.
