The Secret Language of Flamenco with the Hudson Valley Flamenco Festival In-Person

This interactive workshop is designed for children aged 6-12 and offers a vibrant introduction to flamenco through a blend of education and hands-on activities. Participants will explore:

  

- The rich history and cultural roots of flamenco, emphasizing its diverse and inclusive traditions 

- Key flamenco terms like *duende* and *compás*, uncovering the “secret language” of this art form  

- Flamenco rhythms through clapping (*palmas*) and small percussion instruments  

- Basic flamenco dance moves, encouraging creativity and self-expression
